No experience required — only the willingness to help. Volunteers are trained, matched to a district team and given a clear role in building a water-safe Bangladesh.
Registration does not automatically certify an applicant or authorise rescue duties. Professional qualifications and experience are verified before specialist responsibilities are assigned. Rescue, first aid / CPR instruction and other safety-critical duties are only given to trained and verified people. Volunteers must never attempt a rescue beyond their training.
Fields marked as required must be completed before we can process your registration.
Every volunteer follows the same four steps — orientation, training, a district team, then certification so you can train the next cohort.
BOWS works with local leaders, schools and organisations to find committed people who live near water bodies and are trusted in their community.
Volunteers learn water safety, risk awareness, safe bystander response and how to activate emergency support — without putting themselves in danger.
After training and assessment, volunteers receive a standardised BOWS certification so every community can trust the same level of preparation.
Certified volunteers are connected to the BOWS network, emergency contacts and the national water safety database to support their local area.
