Community Network

How the network
comes together.

Local volunteers are selected, trained, certified and deployed in their own districts — connected by one national standard.

Community Network

Local people.
Local knowledge.
National network.

Every community knows its own water bodies better. BOWS will connect that local knowledge with structured training, certification and national coordination.

Meet the volunteers
  1. BOWS works with local leaders, schools and organisations to find committed people who live near water bodies and are trusted in their community.

  2. Volunteers learn water safety, risk awareness, safe bystander response and how to activate emergency support — without putting themselves in danger.

  3. After training and assessment, volunteers receive a standardised BOWS certification so every community can trust the same level of preparation.

  4. Certified volunteers are connected to the BOWS network, emergency contacts and the national water safety database to support their local area.

Safety comes first

BOWS volunteers are not expected to perform dangerous, untrained rescues. Their role is to follow established safety protocols, activate appropriate emergency support and help connect people with trained responders.

One Connected Ecosystem

From knowledge to action.

National Database

A structured safety profile for water bodies across Bangladesh — location, known hazards, seasonal changes and the nearest emergency access. It powers the Water Risk Map and gives volunteers and responders the information they need.
